Xterra World Championship in Maui
Its a done deal. The stress is over. The race finished up on Sunday afternoon and it was a Hot (86) and Humid Day. Amber did great. She set herself a time and hit it spot on. She finished in (Swim-27:10/Bike-2:08:46/Run-1:04:38)=3:40:30. She got a podium spot, 2nd in her age group (30-34). She was 7th Amateur Woman Overall. It was Incredible. She was fighting a cold the last few days, but she dug deep. She got a IV Fluids after the race and lots of ice towels. She joyed that.
Jen Beck and Taylor Seevy both got 3rd in each of there age groups also. Andy Deanow was 7th in his age Group. He took 3min off his best time. Another good showing for Alaskans. Full Results at: http://www.xterraplanet.com/
The Girls are having a great time between the pool and the beach. Dara got a cold that Cada had so its going around our family. I'm Next. Hope Not.
I've been riding and doing alittle running. I'm not to motivated to do any big 4hour rides right now. Since the Race season is done for 4 months. Just enjoying the Beach and pool.
Amber just chilling!!
Cada teaching Dara how to Dig and NOT to Eat the Sand.

Amber going out on the run.

The bike looks hard core with those Big Nobbies on it. He's been riding it on the Hillside in the mud. Vicious 80mm Rims drilled out and he's rocking them.

Family Win!!!!
We finally got a the same win in a race. We both got a Win in Arctic Cross #5. After 5 tries I got a win in Cross this season. I had to get by the 2 youngster on a Slippery, Rooty and Wet course. Adam had a Flat in the beginning. Will and I rode together for about 4 laps. Then he had a rear flat. So that means, hit it hard for the win. That's just what I did. Who ever wins Saturday Race will win the series between Adam, Will, and Myself. Just like last year. Hopefully I have a better race than I did last year. Lots of Sand and Bike Path. Should be fun and fast.
Must have been the Socks!!!

Cross #3 and #4
Got back from Vegas and Raced Cross #3 on Sunday and boy did I suffer. I don't think I have hurt that bad on a Bike in along time. I guess flying and be exhausted caught up. I finished 3rd and I was happy with that.
Wednesday night we had Cross #4. It was downtown at Quianna Park. It was a sweet course. Will took a early lead again. But he got a flat with about 2 laps to go. Adam and I took the lead. Adam attacked with 2 laps to go. I got caught out and in a turn and that was it. I rode in for 2nd.
Amber won both her races. Shes won 4 in a row. Tough Cookie.

Cross Vegas
It was a warm 83degrees. Course was the same as last year. Lots of long grass. Two big run ups. Did I mention HOT. We had 120 people in our group. I started in the 62. They put us at the start line according to our number. It was a total mess in the beginning. 3 crashes right away. I moved my way up and finished 3rd in the Retail Division and 18th Overall out of 120 people. I was really happy with my race. My mouth was so dry after that race. This guy gave me a cough drop the get the Saliva flowing. It worked really well. Vegas was fun. But really exhausting.

Wet and Muddy (Cross #1)
There's no racing like Cross. Cold and Mud. That's what its all about. We had the first Cross of the season on Saturday. I had a solid race. Had a Really bad start. Couldn't get in my pedals and then got stuck way back on the first hill single track. But caught back up by lap 2. Will Ross broke loose and got a gap of about 40 seconds. Adam, John, and, myself rode together the whole race. We hit it hard. We attacked each other the whole time. Will won, Adam was 2nd, and I finished 3rd. Kaladi-Subway, Chain Reaction Sweep. That was the first cross race I think I've done like that. It was Fun. The longer we raced the worse the course got.
Amber had a good race. She went for a swim in the morning at APU swim group for a 1:30 then went to breakfast with her Tri Pals. She then did the Cross Race and Won the Women's Race.

Stretching, getting ready.

Me, Adam, and John.

Amber Focused.
Trying not to Crash.
